This is one of the most gorgeous compotes I have seen!  The background is a luminous pearl luster with beautiful roses and forget-me-nots hand painted on the sides of the bowl.  The handles, top of the bowl and pedestal are heavy gilt enamel.  I can't really describe how fabulous this piece is, so be sure to enlarge the photos.  The colors are incredible and the artwork was done by an expert artisan.  The bowl is marked Made in Japan and is from the 20's or 30's.  There are no chips, cracks or repairs and no wear that I can see anywhere.  The compote is 5" in height and 10 1/2" in diameter.  An amazing antique bowl that would make an excellent addition to a collection or a great centerpiece bowl.<br>PLEASE NOTE:  Although all my listings will be marked that returns are not accepted (due to eBay's change of policy from 14 day returns to 30 days), we will always accept returns for any item that you do not feel is described accurately.  We will not accept returns because an item "does not fit" or because the buyer "changed their mind".   B<br>e sure to check out our other listings and our eBay store items (over 1950, all on sale).  We don’t mark up our items by a great amount, so reasonable offers only please.
